How do we know God is a faithful helper?

Answered in 1 source

We know God is a faithful helper through His promises and providential care throughout our lives, just as Jacob experienced.

Jacob's testimony of God's faithfulness is profound as he reflects on his life. He acknowledges in Genesis 48:15 that God has 'fed me all my life long unto this day.' This reflects a deep trust in God’s provision, rooted in the historical relationship his ancestors had with God. Jacob recounts God’s promises from when He met him at Bethel (Genesis 28), assuring him that He would be with him and keep him. This illustrates a consistent theme in Scripture: God’s unwavering presence and provision throughout the trials of life. As Jacob faced bereavements and fears over the years, God's faithfulness provided him with hope and sustenance, a pattern we can also recognize in our lives.
