How do we know God is faithful even in hardship?

Answered in 1 source

God's faithfulness is evidenced by His unchanging nature and His promises to His people.

The faithfulness of God is foundational in the narrative of David's life, particularly seen during his time of despair in Ziklag. As David returned to find his city devastated, he might have felt abandoned; however, it was during this moment of discouragement that he was reminded of God's unfailing love and covenants. As noted in Malachi 3:6, 'For I am the Lord, I change not,' which reassures believers that, despite our circumstances, God's character remains constant. David's ability to encourage himself in the Lord reflects the truth that even when we falter, God's presence and faithfulness provide solace and strength, confirming His promise to never forsake His own. Ultimately, God's actions in David's life remind us that He orchestrates events for His glory and our good.
