How do we know God is gracious when we are in trouble?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace is demonstrated in His patience and long-suffering as He waits to show mercy to His people.

In Isaiah 30:18, it states, "Therefore will the Lord wait, that He may be gracious unto you." This conveys that God's waiting is an active expression of His grace, showing us that He desires to extend mercy rather than immediate judgment. His long-suffering allows us to return to Him, rather than facing the consequences of our rebellion immediately. By recognizing that God cares deeply and wishes to provide salvation, we can understand that His grace is continually at work, especially during our trials when we may be prone to run from Him instead of to Him.
