How do we know God is in control of all authority?

Answered in 1 source

The sovereignty of God assures us that all authority is ultimately under His control and ordained by Him.

The sovereignty of God is evident in the establishment of all authority figures in both the church and state. As stated in Romans 13, the powers that be are ordained of God. This means that regardless of the character of the individuals in authority, God has raised them up for a purpose, often to demonstrate His own power and to manage human affairs according to His divine will. Even in instances where rulers act against His laws, God's sovereignty allows Him to redeem situations for His glory and the ultimate good of His people. Thus, believers can trust in God's overall governance, assuring us that He is in control.
