How do we know God is just and holy?

Answered in 2 sources

God's justice and holiness are demonstrated through the punishment of sin, which ultimately led to Christ's crucifixion.

The holiness and justice of God are foundational attributes that dictate His response to sin. Scripture reveals that God cannot overlook sin (Exodus 34:7) and maintains His justice by punishing wrongdoing. Lamentations 1:12 reminds us of God’s fierce anger against sin, and the crucifixion of Christ is the ultimate fulfillment of His holy judgment against sin while still providing a means of mercy for His people. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and it is through the sacrificial death of Christ that God's justice is upheld while also rendering grace available to His elect.
