How do we know God is not mocked?

Answered in 1 source

We know God is not mocked because Scripture teaches that our actions have consequences, and we will ultimately reap what we sow.

The assertion that God is not mocked echoes through the lives of those who ignore His warnings and continue in sin. Paul underscores this by stating that whatever we sow—be it to our flesh or to the Spirit—will yield specific outcomes. Sowing to the flesh results in corruption, whereas sowing to the Spirit brings eternal life. This truth speaks to God's justice and sovereignty; He allows us to make choices, but He also ensures that we bear the fruit of those choices. Hence, to mock God is to disregard His authority and truth, believing we can escape the consequences of our actions. The warnings given throughout scripture serve to point us back to the seriousness with which we should approach our relationship with God.
