How do we know God is not responsible for the world's suffering?

Answered in 1 source

The Scriptures affirm that human sin is the reason for suffering, not God's character or will.

The Bible clearly presents that the chaos and suffering we experience are not due to God's design but are a direct result of human rebellion. In Genesis chapters 1 and 2, God's creation is described as 'very good' with no presence of sin or suffering. It's only after the fall in Genesis 3 that sin enters the world and brings about the curse, which affects both humanity and creation. Therefore, the suffering we witness is a consequence of man's sinful choices rather than an expression of God's will or nature.
