How do we know God is patient and not slow in keeping His promises?

Answered in 1 source

God's patience is evident in His long-suffering nature, as He desires for all of His elect to repent and come to faith.

2 Peter 3:9 reveals that God is not 'slow' regarding His promises, but rather patient, demonstrating His desire not to see anyone perish. This patience is especially directed towards His elect, as it allows time for God’s chosen ones to hear the gospel and believe. Historical examples from scripture, such as the long wait for Christ's first coming, showcase that God's timing does not conform to human expectations, but His promises always come to fruition in His divine schedule.
