How do we know God is powerful enough to redeem us?

Answered in 1 source

God's power to redeem is evident in Scripture, which demonstrates His sovereignty in accomplishing salvation (Romans 1:16).

The power of God in redemption is clearly depicted throughout the Bible. Jeremiah's purchase of land while Jerusalem was under siege symbolizes God's promise of restoration and illustrates His ability to redeem. In Jeremiah 32:17, Jeremiah acknowledges God as the Creator, declaring, "There is nothing too hard for Thee." This shows that God's sovereignty extends to salvation. Furthermore, in Romans 1:16, Paul proclaims that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes. Salvation is not dependent on human will but entirely on God's sovereign grace and purpose. He has foreordained the means by which His people are called, saved, and secured in Christ.
