How do we know God is present during difficult times?

Answered in 1 source

God is present in our difficulties, often using them to demonstrate His power and to teach us to rely on Him (Exodus 14:13-14).

In the framework of the Red Sea experience, we see that the presence of God is a source of assurance during difficult times. When Moses instructed the Israelites to not be afraid and to stand still, he was pointing them to the reality that the Lord would fight for them. This reminds us that God's presence is revealed in His action on our behalf even when challenges seem insurmountable. He uses trials to strengthen our faith and confirm His deliverance, compelling us to rely on Him instead of our own strength.
