How do we know God is present in our worship?

Answered in 2 sources

We can discern God's presence in worship by evaluating the message preached and the gospel's alignment with Scripture.

In the context of worship, God's presence can be assessed through the message that is preached. If the preaching is centered on the truth of God’s Word, the character of God, and the salvation provided through Christ, we are assured that God is present. This is emphasized in the sermon where Ezra, for instance, was careful not to compromise his reliance on God by seeking human assistance in times of need. He proclaimed a fast to seek guidance from God, recognizing that His power and presence are critical to the success of their mission. Additionally, when the gospel is faithfully preached, it resonates with the truth of God's promise, confirming Him as an ever-present help in our struggles and worship. True worship must align with Scripture, as indicated in John 4:24, where God seeks those who will worship Him in spirit and truth.
