How do we know God is the source of goodness?

Answered in 1 source

God is referred to as the only source of goodness, which is evident in His character and the names attributed to Him.

When discussing goodness, we must turn to God, as He is the ultimate source of all that is good. Jesus Himself emphasized this when responding to a man who called Him good, stating, 'Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God.' Therefore, when we talk about a good name in the context of human beings, it must align with the goodness that is found in God alone. This truth is further reinforced by the names given to Christ, with the ultimate expression of goodness being seen in His role as Savior (Philippians 2:9-11). Our understanding of goodness must be rooted in the character of God.
