How do we know God is true and trustworthy?

Answered in 1 source

We know God is true and trustworthy through His unchanging nature and the fulfillment of His promises as recorded in Scripture.

The trustworthiness of God is emphasized in Psalm 12, where David asserts that while all men are liars, God is faithful and true. This reliability is rooted in the character of God, who remains unchanged and keeps His promises. As stated in 2 Peter 1:4, God grants believers 'exceeding great and precious promises' which affirm His faithfulness throughout generations. Moreover, the ultimate proof of God's truthfulness is found in Christ, the living Word, who demonstrated His truth by His life, death, and resurrection. Because Jesus embodies the truth, we can confidently place our trust in Him and His Word.
