How do we know God is who He says He is?

Answered in 1 source

We know God is who He says He is because He reveals Himself through His Word and the person of Jesus Christ.

Our knowledge of God is not grounded in human opinion or conjecture; rather, it is rooted in divine revelation. According to 1 Corinthians 2:11, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. This means that our understanding of Him must come from revelation, not from our own insights. The prophets transmitted God's knowledge through the scriptures, detailing His attributes, such as His holiness, justice, and love. Additionally, Jesus Christ, as the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form, reveals God to us perfectly. By considering what He said and did, we learn the true nature of God and His will for humanity.
