How do we know God is with us in times of fear?

Answered in 2 sources

We know God is with us because He promises His presence and guidance, as exemplified in His assurance to Jacob.

The assurance of God's presence amidst our fears is a central theme in the lives of believers, prominently seen in Jacob's experience. When Jacob faced fear at Beersheba, God revealed Himself to him, saying, 'I will go down with thee.' This promise reassures us that God never sends us into unknown territories without His accompanying presence. Just as God committed to Jacob during a pivotal moment in his life, He remains steadfast in His commitment to us.

Scripture throughout reaffirms this promise of God's symbiotic presence during trials. For instance, in Matthew 28:20, Jesus assures, 'I am with you always, to the end of the age.' This divine companionship is meant to alleviate our anxieties. When we face uncertainties, we must remember that God, who knows our hearts, understands our fears and reassures us through His Word. The comfort found in God's promises is essential for believers, reinforcing that we are never alone and that His grace sustains us through every challenge.
