How do we know God loves us through Jesus's birth?

Answered in 1 source

God’s love is manifested through the sending of His Son for our salvation, as expressed in 1 John 4:9-10.

The manifestation of God's love toward us is vividly illustrated in the coming of Christ. In 1 John 4:9-10, we read that God sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him. This act signifies His deep commitment to redeem His people, not because they loved Him, but because He first loved them. The birth of Jesus encapsulates God's goodwill and kindness, as He chose to send His Son to be the propitiation for our sins, thus establishing a relationship of peace and goodwill toward those He has chosen to save.
