How do we know God's authority in our lives?

Answered in 1 source

God's authority is established through His self-revelation in Scripture, particularly in His name 'I Am.'

God’s authority comes from His sovereignty and His self-revelation. In Exodus 3:14, when He instructs Moses to tell the Israelites that 'I Am' has sent him, He asserts His ultimate authority and ownership over all things. Understanding this name reveals that all of creation and history are under His control. As believers, we recognize His authority not merely through tradition or human reasoning, but through faith in His character as revealed in Scripture. God's name assures us that He is actively involved in our lives, guiding, commanding, and empowering us through His grace.
