How do we know God's blessings are truly for His people?

Answered in 1 source

God's blessings for His elect are characterized by spiritual enrichment and eternal good, regardless of external circumstances.

The assurance of God’s blessings for His people comes from understanding His sovereignty and the nature of true blessing. While the world may judge blessings by material or external success, true blessings are those that work for the everlasting good of the faithful. Romans 8:28 teaches that 'all things work together for good to them that love God,' affirming that God's providence is always in favor of His elect. Jacob's story exemplifies this truth; despite his trials that led him to despair, he ultimately recognized that God was working throughout his life to bring about His purposes. This deep-seated contentment in divine providence, as Jacob declared he had 'all things,' reveals that true blessing is found not in material wealth but in a relationship with Christ.
