How do we know God's call is effectual?

Answered in 3 sources

God's call is described as effectual because it is an internal, irresistible call that brings individuals to faith in Christ.

The effectual call refers to God's sovereign ability to call His elect to salvation. This call is not only external, as in the preaching of the gospel, but it also includes an internal transformation by the Holy Spirit that makes the sinner willing and able to respond in faith. The Bible illustrates this with examples such as Lazarus being called from the dead, where the power of the call brought about an immediate response. Hence, the effectual call is characterized by its irresistible nature, ensuring that those whom God calls will indeed come to faith and be saved.
