How do we know God's counsel stands despite man's devices?

The assurance that God's counsel stands in spite of human devices is rooted in the consistency and faithfulness of God's Word. Throughout Scripture, we read accounts where human intentions and plans fail against God’s sovereign will. For instance, God's counsel led to the preservation of the Israelites despite Haman’s wicked device to annihilate them, as seen in the Book of Esther. Similarly, God’s ultimate plan of redemption through Jesus Christ shows that, regardless of the devices of men—including the Pharisees in their attempts to entrap Him—God’s overarching purpose prevailed. This is underscored in Romans 8:28, which states that all things work together for good to those who are the called according to His purpose. Thus, believers can take comfort in knowing that even when our own devices lead us astray, God's counsel and promise remain unbroken.
