How do we know God's covenant with His people is unchanging?

Answered in 1 source

God’s covenant with His people is unchanging because of His faithful character and promises that do not falter.

The assurance of God's unchanging covenant is rooted in His nature; He is immutable and steadfast. In Psalm 89, God declares that His mercy will not be taken away and that He will not break His covenant. No matter the failings of His people, He remains faithful. This is exemplified in the life of David, who, despite his mistakes, could still encourage himself in the Lord, knowing God’s covenant relationship with him would not change. Believers find comfort in knowing that regardless of their shortcomings, God's promises are secure due to His unchanging nature.
