How do we know God's forgiveness is complete?

Answered in 9 sources

We know God's forgiveness is complete because He declares in scripture that He has removed our sins entirely, as seen in Psalm 103.

Psalm 103:12 powerfully communicates the completeness of God's forgiveness: 'As far as the east is from the west, so far hath Heremoved our transgressions from us.' This imagery suggests an infinite distance, indicating that our sins are not only forgiven but forgotten by God. Theologically, this reflects God's sovereign grace, which guarantees that every sin, past, present, and future, is covered by the blood of Christ. God's declaration of 'I will abundantly pardon' underscores His delight in extending mercy to those who repent and seek forgiveness. Our understanding of forgiveness is anchored in the perfect righteousness of Christ, who, through His sacrifice, has secured our pardon and removed all barriers between us and God.
