How do we know God's goodness is for His people?

Answered in 1 source

God's goodness is particularly directed to those who are of a pure heart and have faith in Him.

The Scriptures make a distinction between God's general goodness toward all of creation, evidenced by common grace, and His particular goodness that is reserved for His people. Psalm 73 states that God is good to Israel, referring not just to the nation but symbolically to all who have a pure heart through faith in Christ. Romans 9 explains that not all physical Israel is Israel in the spiritual sense but that God’s covenant promises are fulfilled in the elect. Hence, believers can trust that God's goodness is actively engaged in their lives, leading to spiritual blessings and eternal life through Christ.
