How do we know God's goodness is true in times of trial?

Answered in 1 source

God’s goodness is affirmed through His sovereignty and the purpose He has in trials for His glory and our benefit.

In times of trial, it can be difficult to see God's goodness, but the Bible reassures us of His purpose in our suffering. Romans 8:28 tells us that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. Though trials are painful, they serve to refine our faith and deepen our dependence on Him. Job’s story is a prime example where his suffering ultimately highlighted God's sovereignty and goodness, teaching us to respond in worship and gratitude, even when we face loss.
