How do we know God's goodness leads to repentance?

Answered in 1 source

We know God's goodness leads to repentance as it provides motive for us to turn away from sin (Romans 2:4).

God's goodness is inherently linked to His character and the grace He extends to sinners. Romans 2:4 notes that recognizing God's kindness should lead us to repentance, as it reveals His patience and willingness to restore those who have sinned against Him. The continued blessings and mercies we experience in our lives, even in the face of our failures, serve as constant reminders of God’s desire for our salvation. These experiences should cultivate within us a humility and a sincere desire to turn from our ways and submit to His lordship. The challenge comes when we underestimate this goodness or refuse to acknowledge it, thereby neglecting the repentance it graciously invites us into.
