How do we know God's grace is effective in our hearts?

Answered in 1 source

The effectiveness of God's grace can be seen in how it transforms our understanding, affections, and will, bringing us into a deeper relationship with Christ.

God's grace is evident in the heart of a believer through a gradual but powerful transformation. As the Apostle Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 5:6-8, 'a little leaven leavens the whole lump.' When God's grace takes root in our hearts, it changes our understanding of righteousness, cultivates a love for Christ, and aligns our desires with God's will. This pervasive influence of grace reflects our acceptance of the kingdom of God. It leads to a desire for holiness and a longing for deeper communion with God, showing that His grace is indeed at work in our lives.
