How do we know God's grace is essential for belief?

Answered in 1 source

God's grace is essential for belief because, without it, we remain dead in sin and unable to respond to His truth.

The doctrine of God's sovereign grace shows that belief in the gospel is a miracle and a work of God rather than a human decision. As explained in the sermon, every individual is born dead in their sins and aligned with their father, the devil, as described in Ephesians 2:1-3. Only by God's grace can a person receive a new heart capable of understanding, believing, and accepting the gospel. This grace is given freely and enables the sinner to respond positively to God's word, making faith itself a gift from God.
