How do we know God's grace will keep us from perishing?

Answered in 1 source

We are assured that those given to Christ will never perish due to God's sovereign grace and saving power.

According to John 10:28-29, Jesus states, 'And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.' This promise highlights the certainty of the believer's security in Christ, affirming that all who trust Him are safe and secure in His care. The doctrine of perseverance aligns with the truth that salvation is a gift from God, not based on our works or abilities, but rooted in His covenant promises.

Moreover, it is God's sovereign will and decree that ensures the salvation of His people. Ephesians 1:4-5 teaches that God's choice of believers was made before the foundation of the world, demonstrating His intent and purpose in providing eternal life to His elect. This firmly establishes that our salvation rests on the unchanging sovereignty of God, who will safeguard His children from final destruction and maintain their faith throughout their lives.
