How do we know God's holiness is important?

Answered in 2 sources

God's holiness is essential because it defines His nature and our relationship with Him, highlighting the need for holiness in our lives.

God's absolute holiness is fundamental to understanding both His character and our own condition. In 1 John 1:5, we see that God is defined as light, meaning He is pure, just, and without sin. Recognizing God's holiness helps us grasp the severity of human sinfulness, driving the need for salvation. It is through the acknowledgment of God’s holiness that we realize our need for the redemption provided by Christ's sacrifice, as He is the only way to bridge the gap created by our sin.
