How do we know God's intentions for salvation are genuine?

Answered in 1 source

God’s commitment to save is evident through the gift of His Son and the imparting of the Holy Spirit.

God's intentions for salvation are manifested in His earnestness, as seen in the lavish giving of His Son and the outpouring of His Holy Spirit on believers. As Paul articulates in Ephesians 1, the sending of the Holy Spirit is an earnest or guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of those whom He has chosen. This demonstrates that God is fully invested in the salvation of His people, going so far as to sacrifice the life of His Son. He does not merely aim for a superficial or forced salvation but rather seeks to transform the lives of those He saves, filling them with a desire to be like Christ.
