How do we know God's justice and mercy work together?

Answered in 1 source

God's justice is displayed in judgment, while His mercy is shown in the salvation of a chosen remnant (Isaiah 1:24).

The relationship between God's justice and mercy is beautifully illustrated in Isaiah 1:24, where the Lord, the Lord of hosts, declares, 'I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies.' This passage indicates that God's justice is active against unrighteousness, yet simultaneously, He offers mercy to those who repent and turn to Him. His justice does not negate His mercy, nor does His mercy ignore justice. Instead, they collaborate in the salvation of His people as He judges sin through Christ, allowing us to be justified and receive the grace of eternal life, demonstrating God's perfect harmony between justice and mercy.
