How do we know God's love during difficult times?

Answered in 1 source

God's love is demonstrated through His purpose in our trials, which are meant to discipline and strengthen us.

Hebrews 12:5-6 articulates that God's discipline is an expression of His love for His children. When we undergo trials, it is a reminder that we are His sons and daughters, and He corrects us for our good. This correction may not feel pleasant at the moment, but it serves the purpose of helping us grow in holiness and dependence on Him. Thus, understanding trials as a form of love helps us to view them not as punishments but as facets of a loving Father's guidance towards maturity and faithfulness.
