How do we know God's love for us is secure?

Answered in 3 sources

God's love is secure as evidenced by His covenant with His people and the sacrificial love demonstrated through Christ’s death for His church.

The security of God's love for His people is firmly grounded in the Gospel. He established a covenant with His elect before the foundation of the world, choosing them by His sovereign grace (Ephesians 1:4-5). This grace was fully realized when Christ laid down His life for His bride, the church, ensuring that those for whom He died are made righteous in Him. God's love does not waver or decrease even when His people falter in their love for Him. The steadfastness of God’s love is a vital element of our assurance as believers; as Christ unselfishly fulfilled all righteousness on our behalf, this demonstrates that our relationship with Him is anchored in His commitment to us, not our performance.
