How do we know God's love in chastisement?

Answered in 1 source

We identify God's love through His discipline, which trains us in righteousness and reveals our need for Him.

In Hebrews 12:6, it is stated, 'For whom the Lord loveth He chastens.' This verse highlights that God’s chastisement is a direct result of His love towards us. Just as an earthly father disciplines his children for their good, so does our Heavenly Father. This chastening serves to draw us closer to Him, making evident our weaknesses and prompting us to seek His strength. Through our trials and difficulties, we are reminded of our dependence on Christ for righteousness and consolation.
