How do we know God’s love in relation to sin?

Answered in 1 source

God’s love is understood through the acknowledgment of sin and the need for Christ’s sacrifice.

The relationship between God’s love and human sin is profound. While many preach the love of God exclusively, it is equally important to grasp that God's love demonstrates His mercy in light of sin. Romans 5:8 states, 'But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.' This indicates that God's love is most vividly displayed through Christ's sacrificial atonement for our sins. Recognizing the seriousness of sin leads to a deeper appreciation of God's love, as it reveals His willingness to suffer for our redemption. Thus, an understanding of our depravity enhances our comprehension of divine grace and love.
