How do we know God's love through the cross?

Answered in 1 source

God's love is demonstrated through the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross, as it shows the lengths God went to for our redemption.

1 John 3:1 proclaims that God's love is manifest in our being called the sons of God, achieved through the sacrifice of His Son on the cross. The cross is where God's love meets His justice; He did not spare His own Son but delivered Him up to die for sinners. This act reveals that true love is often sacrificial, for while we were enemies of God due to our sin, Christ voluntarily took our punishment. The enormity of this love can only be grasped in light of the cross, making it a cornerstone of Christian belief. Every believer can take assurance in knowing that their sins have been fully paid for, highlighting God's profound love and mercy towards His chosen people.
