How do we know God's messengers are true?

Answered in 1 source

We can discern true messengers by their confession of Christ and by testing their teachings against Scripture.

The Bible instructs us in 1 John 4:1-3 not to believe every spirit but to test them to see if they are from God. Every true messenger of God will confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh and that He was sent for the purpose of redemption. This confession is critical, as it not only affirms the humanity of Christ but also His divine mission of salvation. Additionally, Acts 17:10-11 encourages believers to receive the Word with eagerness and examine the Scriptures daily to verify the truth of what they hear. Thus, true messengers align their teachings with the Scriptures and carry the message of Christ's redemptive work.
