How do we know God's peace is available to us?

Answered in 2 sources

God's peace is available to us through Jesus Christ, who assures us in John 14:27, 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.'

The availability of God's peace to believers is facilitated through Jesus Christ. In John 14:27, Jesus explicitly states, 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.' This indicates that His peace is a gift distinct from worldly peace, which is often fleeting and conditional. Furthermore, Romans 5:1 asserts that 'being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.' This means that Christ's redemptive work on the cross not only reconciles us to the Father but bestows upon us a lasting peace that assures us of His favor and acceptance despite our failures. Thus, no matter our spiritual condition, His peace can be realized in our hearts as we trust in Him.
