How do we know God's people are indeed His?

Answered in 1 source

God's people are identified through their faith and His choosing, as He will dwell with them and they will be His people.

The identity of God's people is rooted in His electing grace and their response of faith. Revelation 21:3 states, 'They shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them.' This signifies a remarkable truth: those who believe are recognized as God's chosen, who are redeemed by the blood of Christ. The assurance comes from God's unchanging promise and His active role in their lives, shaping them into a new creation. Thus, the evidence of a believer’s faith—a reliance on Christ as Savior—confirms their status as part of God's eternal family.
