How do we know God's people can be like the wicked?

Answered in 1 source

God's people can exhibit behaviors similar to the wicked but remain distinct in their salvation and identity in Christ.

While the redeemed can sometimes reflect traits similar to those of the wicked, it is crucial to recognize that they are not ultimately lost. The psalmist David shows concern for becoming like those who are condemned, indicating that believers may experience moments of weakness, sin, or doubt. However, the assurance of salvation is rooted in God's eternal love and choice. Believers are held secure by His grace, affirming that although they may falter, they are never truly cast away from His presence, as they have been chosen and redeemed by Christ.
