How do we know God's promises about prayer are true?

Answered in 4 sources

God's promises in prayer are true because they are rooted in His character as a loving Father who provides for our spiritual needs.

The assurance that God hears and answers prayer stems from His nature. Jesus illustrates this in Matthew 7:9-11, where He compares earthly fathers giving good gifts to their children to God’s willingness to provide what is good for those who ask Him. The emphasis is on God giving good gifts, particularly the Holy Spirit and the righteousness of His kingdom, demonstrating His commitment to our spiritual well-being. Our confidence in His promises is fortified by His character, which does not waver, hence we can trust that when we ask in alignment with His will, we receive.
