How do we know God's promises apply to the Church?

Answered in 1 source

All promises of God are fulfilled in Christ, making them applicable to the Church as His body and the elect.

The New Testament makes clear that all the promises of God are 'yea' and 'amen' in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). This means that any gracious promise made in the Old Testament finds its fulfillment and application in the Church. Therefore, when reading promises made to Israel, it's essential to see them in light of the New Covenant, which identifies the Church as the heirs of these promises. In Galatians 3:29, it states that if we belong to Christ, we are Abraham's seed and heirs according to promise. This reveals that the Church, as the spiritual Israel, inherits all the blessings God has extended to His people.
