How do we know God's promises are for us?

Answered in 5 sources

God's promises are assured to believers through faith and the assurance of His Word, which invites them to claim these blessings.

The certainty of God's promises stems from His character and the covenants He establishes with His people. In Scripture, believers are assured that all of God's promises are available to them through faith in Christ. As stated in the sermon, the Bible is depicted as 'a never-failing treasury filled with boundless stores of grace.' Therefore, it is through God's Word that believers find the affirmations of His promises.

God's Word encourages believers to approach Him in prayer and claim the provisions He has made, regardless of their circumstances or feelings of unworthiness. Hebrews 4:16 underscores this notion by saying, 'Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence,' highlighting that the believer's access is grounded in Christ's righteousness and not their own flaws. This relationship built on faith assures believers that God's promises pertain to them, empowering them to live boldly in the freedom provided through Jesus.
