How do we know God's promises are true for our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

God's promises are true and unchangeable because they are based on His perfect character and the completed work of Christ.

The reliability of God's promises is rooted in His unchanging nature and faithfulness. In Proverbs 4:5-9, we are instructed to seek wisdom, which is ultimately found in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:30). The finished work of Christ on the cross secures these promises for His people (Ephesians 1:13-14). Since God's plan of salvation is enacted by His infinite wisdom, believers can trust that His promises regarding their salvation cannot be altered by circumstances or personal failures. This trust is bolstered by our understanding that God, who cannot lie, has guaranteed our inheritance and our eternal preservation.
