How do we know God's promises to sustain us are true?

Answered in 1 source

God's promises are true as He affirms them throughout Scripture, demonstrating His faithfulness to His people.

The truth of God's sustaining promises can be found throughout the Bible, especially in the narrative of David. In Psalm 3, David expresses his confidence that God is a 'shield' and 'lifter' of his head in times of distress. God’s historical faithfulness, exemplified in His interactions with His people—like His commitment to never leave or forsake them—establishes a foundation for belief in His promises. Moreover, God’s covenant promises in the Old Testament and the fulfillment of these in Christ reveal that He consistently upholds His word, offering us reassurance that our struggles are managed under His sovereign care.
