How do we know God's providence during hardship?

Answered in 1 source

God's providence is evident in how He guides and shapes the lives of His people, even through trials.

The narrative of Naomi and Ruth illustrates God's providential workings, especially during times of hardship. Despite Naomi's lament, 'the Lord hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me' (Ruth 1:21), she still demonstrates faith in God's ultimate control and goodness. This highlights the biblical reality that suffering can serve a purpose in our spiritual journey, drawing believers closer to God and fostering a deeper reliance on His grace. God's providence is not always immediately visible, but as believers, we trust that He orchestrates every event in our lives for our good, even when circumstances appear dire. Through His providence, God faithfully draws His people back to Himself and provides for their needs.
