How do we know God's providence in difficult times?

Answered in 2 sources

God's providence is evident in the story of Elijah, where he patiently stayed by the brook Cherith until God's instructions came.

The narrative of Elijah teaches us about God's providential care in trials. When Elijah's water supply dried up, rather than acting impulsively, he remained at Cherith until directed otherwise by God. This illustrates that God's guidance often comes in His perfect timing, with each aspect of our lives within His sovereign control. By looking to biblical accounts, we see that even during times of hardship, obedience and trust in God’s plan lead to divine provision. Elijah's example encourages believers to seek God's guidance patiently during their own trials, trusting that He has a plan and provision ready for them.
