How do we know God's providence is for our good?

Answered in 3 sources

God's providence is assuredly for our good because He works all things according to His will for the benefit of His elect.

The assurance of God's providence for our good is rooted in His nature and promises. In Ephesians 1:11, we see that God works all things after the counsel of His own will. This means that everything that happens in the life of a believer is ultimately aligned with God's perfect plan, even when we struggle to see the good in our circumstances. Just as God led Israel through the wilderness instead of the shorter path to avoid their weakness, He guides us toward experiences that grow our faith and lead us to depend more fully on Him. Trusting in God's providential care means believing that He is orchestrating events in our lives for our ultimate spiritual benefit.
