How do we know God's purpose is sure?

Answered in 1 source

God's purpose is assured as evidenced by His unchanging promises and the certainty of salvation for His elect (Romans 9:6-8).

In Romans 9:6-8, Paul comforts himself and his readers by asserting that God's purpose and promises are not frustrated by human rejection. He states, 'Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel.' This means that despite Israel's widespread unbelief, God's election stands firm; not all who are of Israel by race are included in the true spiritual Israel. God's promises are steadfast, confirming that His elect will ultimately be saved and that His glory will be revealed through them (Romans 9:6-7). This unshakeable truth provides deep comfort and assurance to believers regarding their salvation.
