How do we know God's requirements for worship?

Answered in 2 sources

God's requirements for worship are clearly outlined in His Word, which must be followed to worship Him acceptably.

Worship must be conducted according to God's prescribed order and within the guidelines of Scripture. Both the intent behind the worship and its execution must align with God’s commands. The example of King David illustrates this principle; his initial attempt to bring the Ark of the Covenant involved human planning rather than adhering to God’s established commands. As a result, the Lord rejected his worship, emphasizing that true worship must be rooted in a sincere engagement with God's Word and His ordained means of grace that reflect reverence for Him.
